It has been a while since my last blog post, September to be exact. I can’t actually believe it’s been that long. It was not my intent to be away for so many months, the hiatus came about from focussing on my writing. This is where a lot of my time has gone into, that and my day job teaching, and that has consumed a great deal of my mental and physical energy. Finding the capacity to write out of school hours and also spending time with family and friends hasn’t been the easiest part of my life to balance.
COVID-19 has made it more difficult this year in many parts of our lives and we are still dealing with the short- and long-term ramifications of the pandemic. However, I am more determined to continue with writing and publishing. My biggest bump in the road is having to teach full-time, but I am grateful to have a job when there are many people who have been laid off due to the pandemic.
What does this mean for the future of my blog, I will still write articles and finish the series for my upcoming novella but posting may be monthly instead of fortnightly. Writing manuscripts will take precedence over all else.
So in keeping with the theme of this article here is a quick update on current WIPS:
- my novella is currently with the editor
- I’ve just completed a second round of edits on the third book in the Servant of the Gods series and about to go through it again
- If all goes to plan, publication of both ms will be next year, and I will keep you posted
Thank you for reading.
Yeah, taking care of the blog really does eat into writing time, doesn’t it? Wishing you all the best with your WIP, and here’s to getting both manuscripts published next year!

It certainly does, especially with trying to keep two jobs going. Thank you very much, Stuart. Wishing you well in your publishing venture as well!

Good to hear from you, Luciana. This covid stuff has me realigning lots of parts of my life so I’m not surprised it slowed your blog writing. We’ll see where it all ends up. Love all your progress, despite being so busy!

Thanks, Jacqui. I am finding it difficult to keep afloat with everything happening this year. COVID-19 certainly has impacted across all spectrums! Next year is going to be interesting in a lot of ways.
