I’ve just joined Alex J. Cavanaugh’s The Insecure Writer’s Support Group. (Click on the link to learn more.) The goal of the support group is to share doubts and concerns, and reassure other writers who have struggled by offering assistance and guidance.
The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day where we post our thoughts on doubts and the fears and how we triumphed. There are other bloggers listed who share their writing journey and I encourage you to check them out.
Here’s my first attempt:
Blogging is often more than just sharing stories. It’s often the start of special friendships and relationships. Have you made any friends through the blogosphere?
When I first started blogging, I did not expect to connect with many fellow bloggers, it did not factor into my head this new platform I was about to embark on would engender much in way of connections, let alone friendships. I was wrong.
Ten years down the track and I’ve made amazing friends with people from around the world: the UK, Germany, Israel, Italy, the USA, Canada, South Africa, Argentina and in my own backyard, Australia. (I may have missed a few places… apologies!) The nicest part about the ‘blogosphere’ is meeting new people who have similar interests, yet are different from each other and friends I have at home.
What about you? Have you made friends through the blogosphere?
Twitter @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG
Thank you for your continued support and as always, I look forward to your comments and will respond.
Historical fiction novelist and a secondary teacher, Luciana Cavallaro, burnt out but not done… yet.
Yeah. Been doing this for a number of years and have made a few friends all over the world.

Welcome to IWSG, Luciana!! You’ll love it here. It’s a great place to make connections and long lasting friendships with those who encourage, inspire and sometimes, need that extra boost to keep them going. I’m so jealous of one of my critique partners who has made the trip Down Under twice and loved it!!

Thank you very much, Nancy. 🙂 I am looking forward to meeting other #IWSG members and learning from you all.
You’ll have to come this way, once life returns to ‘normal’. Perth has much nicer weather through out the year than the other cities 😉

Welcome to the group! I think you summed up what I love about blogging and connecting with other writers – we all have different perspectives and experiences to bring, but one thing I’ve found in common is the generous support offered. Great post.

One of the amazing things about blogging is that you meet people from around the world through your blog and theirs. The IWSG community probably has at least one writer from any English-speaking country. I’m from BC, Canada myself. Waving you hello from Vancouver, Lucianna.

One of the plusses of the internet is being in contact with and getting ideas from all over the world. IWSG certainly helps with that.

I’ve certainly made friends within the blogosphere. You’re one of them, Luciana. I don’t think my number of friends is as extensive as yours but I still marvel at how many countries my blog touches upon.
