VBL Review

GOAL
The main aim of the Virtual Book Launch was to interact with my current readers and to reach out to a new potential audience. Having the event over a 24-hour period was important as I wanted to interact with both local and overseas readers. By restricting my accessibility to a particular time-frame, it would have reduced visibility and sales. As I never had done a VBL, I did not know what to expect or how it would turn out, and had nothing to compare the outcome to. I also wanted to include other Historical Fiction/Fantasy writers to show the diversity of the genre.

Goodbye 2016

I thought it was time to reflect on the year that was 2016. I haven’t written an article as such before, so here we go. 2016 was a roller-coaster and so to close the year out, here are some pivotal events that happened.

The year started very promising, I had started a new job and was working in two schools. It was hectic going from one school to the other, but I made it work. My new line-manager then offered extra days, which meant resigning from the other school. That was fine as I was travelling an hour and half each way to get there.

Ch… ch… changes

I want to apologise to my wonderful and loyal readers for my absence. It wasn’t by choice, rather circumstances have intervened and as a result, I haven’t been posting as often as I’d like. I will continue the series on the Minoans, as they are fascinating and are the premise for the trilogy I am writing, but first I want to fill you as to what has been happening.

Where did the year go?

It’s hard to believe but the first anniversary of Accursed Women is fast approaching. A lot has happened since 30 November 2013, high and low events. The greatest achievement was the publication of Accursed Women. The book launch was a wonderful success with support from family, friends and people I hadn’t met before. It had a positive vibe and great energy. I was buzzing and so was the room full of guests.

Today’s Brief…

Today’s post is a brief yet poignant interlude into the usual articles. I was interviewed by two wonderful and lovely ladies and like to introduce them.

Effrosyni Moschoudi, Indie Author with two books published The Necklace of Goddess Athena and The Lady of the Pier. To read the interview please visit Effrosyni’s Blog. I have just begun to follow Effrosyni’s blog and have enjoyed the varied and informative articles she writes. Fun and interesting.

Linnea Tanner, writer and Celtic and Roman historian. I’ve been following Linnea’s blog for a while now and always come away learning something new about the ancient history of Celtic Britain. Apollo’s Raven is a wealth of historical information, well researched and written. Please visit to read the interview. I am looking forward to Linnea’s first book, the same title as her blog.

I do hope you have time to read the interviews and browse the blogs.
Thank you

As always, I love to hear from you.

Multiple Awards

I received a surprise message from the lovely Emily Guido of The Light Bearer Series fame before Christmas nominating me for a quintet of awards. THANK YOU Emily, my head is still reeling! Three of the five I received during 2012 and not sure I deserve the other two, but Emily assured me otherwise. There are, as always, instructions and while it’s good to adhere to them, I’m going to be a little creative with their interpretation.

I would also like to add this will be the last nomination I will accept. As they say, go out with a bang!
